Know what’s behind the price.
PackHunter helps you compare offers. Here’s what the numbers can tell you, and where to check the details.
- Independent card shops, in one place
- PackHunter tracks Pokémon singles, graded cards and sealed products listed by independent card shops. We link to the shop selling each item; purchases happen on that shop’s website. Our directory describes the shops we track, not every seller in the market. A listing is not an endorsement or a claim of affiliation.
- Listed is different from checked
- Available in catalog means the catalog reports availability. Stock checked means a successful check at the store within 24 hours, at least as recent as the catalog observation. A failed request never renews that check. Neither status reserves stock; confirm availability at checkout.
- The lowest price is an item price
- Store offers are compared in USD before shipping and tax. We use a newer verified price when its currency matches, otherwise the catalog price. Stores may have minimum orders, shipping limits, or additional fees. We do not calculate a delivered total for store offers.
- Preorders stay separate
- Offers for unreleased sets are preorders. They do not count as stock, and we do not calculate a savings percentage against released-product prices. Confirm dispatch dates and allocation terms with the seller.
- References are context
- PriceCharting sold prices are read from its pages and are not an official feed. We use references fetched within seven days for sealed-product percentages. Older references can still be displayed with their date on product pages.
- Compare the same card
- A useful comparison needs the same card, printing, condition, and currency. We parse listing details where sellers provide them; missing details remain unspecified. Market references are shown for context until a matching reference can be established. Parsing a listing does not verify its market reference. EUR references stay in EUR. Read TCGdex’s pricing notes.
- Seller details need evidence
- We read the listing title, selected purchase option, and seller description. Automated checks and a language model extract explicit condition, finish, language, and package details. Unsupported guesses stay unknown; conflicting claims are held for review. A selected pack or pack lot does not belong in a booster-box comparison.
- Graded cards have their own comparisons
- Graded offers show the seller’s stated grading company, grade, and certificate number when supplied. Company logos identify the claimed grader; they do not mean PackHunter or the grading company authenticated the card. Graded prices stay separate from raw singles.
- Artwork identifies the catalog card
- Card artwork comes from the matching catalog record and language. It does not show the condition of the seller’s physical card. When a source has no matching image, we leave it missing instead of borrowing another printing or language.
- Coverage is still growing
- A catalog entry does not mean we have searched stores for it. Product pages show when that product was last polled, or say it has not been checked yet. Polling runs on a rolling schedule; updates are not guaranteed hourly. Listings unseen for seven days and missing catalog results are excluded from current offers.
- Some offers are excluded
- We retain flagged listings for inspection, including damaged products, bundles, partial products, graded or played cards, language mismatches, and currency mismatches. Offers flagged as suspiciously far below a reference are excluded pending review. An exclusion is not a judgment about the store.
- History records observations
- We save price and stock changes. The chart shows the lowest saved observation on each recorded date, not a continuous daily market price. Store check counts describe the tracked sample; they are not seller ratings or guarantees.
